MLK
To avoid the problems encountered last year in the European markets which had refused shipments of figs exceeding aflatoxin rate permitted by the legislation in force, the Commercial Exchange Bourse of Aydin had a meeting to inform producers on measures to take to improve the quality of Turkish fig.
80 percent of the production of fresh and dry products are sold in Europe, mainly in France and Germany. To note a net increase in exports of figs to China .
Aydin had produced in 2012 some 41,000 tons and this year if the weather conditions do not deteriorate a slight increase is expected.
