Peruvian avocado exports would reach 530,000 tons for $1,050,664,197 at the end of this year, which means an increase of 29.3% in volume and 39% in value compared to the 410,000 tons ($755,829,979) achieved in 2020.
This was indicated by the president of the consulting firm Inform@cción, Fernando Cillóniz, who added that Peruvian avocado exports in 2022 would exceed 600,000 tons, representing an increase of 13.2% compared to 2021.
Cillóniz explained this increase due to the estimated implementation of new plantations by large companies and small producers on the coast and in the mountains.
Worth to mention that Peru exports avocado throughout the year, despite the fact that there is a season with higher shipments (March-September), but combining the supply from the coast, jungle and mountains, it never stops exporting the fruit.
