Rootstocks and fruit trees supplier adds three license blueberry varieties to the range
VV
Since 2017, based in Emmeloord, the Netherlands Fairplant has started producing blueberry plants in-house. Recently Michigan State University (MSU) has granted Fairplant the licenses for three varieties: Draper®, Liberty® and Aurora®.
"To better meet the demand we have chosen to grow blueberries in-house. We are pleased that in Europe and the UK we can now also line up these three common licensing varieties. MSU's emeritus professor James Hancock began breeding these varieties in the 1990s. They were launched in 2004 and still belong to one of the industry's best varieties”, - shares Rik Klein, sales manager.
In the near future the company plans to deliver their variety package of blueberries as organic (or so called ‘BIO’) plants.

About
Fairplant produces and markets rootstocks for fruit trees, fruit trees itself, various small fruit plants, machines and tree nursery products. The organization has its headquarters in Noordoostpolder (Netherlands, Flevoland). The rootstocks and plants have a solid, fertile base on the rich polder soil. Fairplant will open a test field with all the traditional and organic blueberries it provides in 2020, so customers can see how the varieties are growing and evolving.
