Late harvest in Quebec

A late spring in Quebec has delayed the crop of local asparagus and strawberries.
In Quebec, rain, low temperatures and a late spring have caused delays for crops, especially for vegetables.
Local strawberries and asparagus will be a few days late on the usual dates of availability. In some areas the soil is too wet to prevent the use of machinery and this has pushed back planting dates.
The first local strawberries are expected by the second week of June. Last year, the first strawberries are available May 25. Producers expect yields to be down from last year.
