Good performance for the Piraeus port in H1 2015

 COSCO announced its results for the 1st half of 2015.

PIRAEUS CONTAINER TERMINAL SA recorded revenues up by + 4.7%. However, such income in euros, because of the depreciation of Euro / US Dollar, result in lower revenue in US dollars (USD 78,393,000 against USD 91.459 million in the same period in 2014).

Profits increased by + 22.6% due to optimization activities. But because of the weakness of the Euro against the dollar, the profit contribution in US dollars grew by only 0.4% to USD 15.129 million against USD 15.073 million compared to the same period in 2014.

PIRAEUS CONTAINER TERMINAL has managed to increase its throughput by 0.8% to 1,481,718 TEUs although the shipping market of the Far East / Mediterranean remained low during the period.
