The production of citruses will fall of considerable form in the region of Murcia according to the official estimations of the council, happening of the something more than 741,000 tons of campaign 2006/07 to 515,935 tons in this. The reduction will be generalized in all products except in pomelo, of which 21,680 will take shelter the past tn by the 20,880 tn of year (+3.8 percent).
However the lemon harvest will descend a 39 percent, with 267,000 tn by more than 436,000 tn of campaign 2006/07; of orange a 17.5 percent will take shelter less (160,000 tn by the 194,000 tn of the last year); and in the mandarin the fall will surpass the 25 percent, with 66,800 tn as opposed to more than 89,000 tn of the previous exercise.
The Council of Agriculture attributes this reduction to several factors, as the delays in the harvesting of the previous harvest, the damages caused by the strong winds of March, as well as the high temperatures of the month of May, that caused alterations in materializes and fallen of fruit.
