Increase in potato exports

Considerable increase in exports and market diversification for the Armenian potatoes. According to figures of the National Statistical Service of Armenia , the last 2 years have seen the largest quantities of potatoes exported since 2007.
In 2013 the country exported 23,500 tons of potatoes ( worth 6.6 million USD ) and in 2014 for the period January-November exports reached 21,000 tonnes ( worth US $ 4.6 million). From 2007 until now Armenia exported 60,000 tons of potatoes and imported 38,000 tons.
Most imports came first to the Netherlands and then to Georgia and Germany. Prior to 2010 , Armenia exported only to Georgia and Russia. Since then, the country began to export to Iran, Iraq , Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. In 2013 , Iraq was the largest importer of potatoes in Armenia.
