Peru can export fresh tangerines to Japan.
After more than 10 years of work to comply with the sanitary requirements of the Japanese market, this country has just authorized the entry of fresh Peruvian mandarines.
MINAGRI, the Peruvian Ministry of Agriculture said that its Japanese counterpart had just published the official standard allowing the import of mandarins from Peru.
The last Peruvian product to enter the Japanese market was the avocado in 2015. During the season that has just finished its export volume to Japan reached 5,200 tons. A similar result is expected in the coming years for mandarin.
