General rise in Moroccan exports

Exports of fruits and vegetables from Morocco rose in 2010-2011 marked by early and high quality products.
According to a statement from the Department of Agriculture export volumes reached 529,000 tons, against 478,000 in 2009-2010, an increase of 9%. Good weather conditions, improvements in production and logistics in the country have contributed to this increase.
By products, the export volume of berries increased by 9% from 316,000 tons in 2009-2010 to 349,000 tonnes. The volume of oranges exported increased by 8% from 162,000 tons to 175,000 tons.
Exports of early vegetables increased 8% from 671,000 ton in 2009-2010 to 726,000 ton in 2010/2011. Strawberry exports rose 41% and courgettes and tomatoes were up 22%.
For destinations, the market for North America increased by 62% and the Russian market by 51%.
