Carrefour buys hypermarkets from Ahold

Carrefour has bought 13 Hypernova hypermarkets from Dutch retailer Ahold. Ahold said that it is selling the units to concentrate on smaller format stores and to reduce debt. The hypermarkets are located in major Polish cities and achieve a total turnover of around EUR 120 million.. The price of the transaction was not disclosed.
