Positive alteration in hectares planted with garlic in Mendoza

The Ministry of Production of Argentina, through the Institute of Rural Development (IDR), has reported that Mendoza has experienced a 4% growth in hectares cultivated with garlic compared to the previous season, reaching a total of 13,841 hectares.
San Carlos stands out as the most relevant department, with more than 3,900 hectares dedicated to the production of purple garlic (3,093.6 ha), red garlic (724.4 ha) and 82 hectares of early white garlic.
In the case of purple garlic, an interannual increase of 11.5% is observed in the number of hectares, reaching a total of 10,373.5 hectares. The production of early white garlic has experienced an increase of 72%, reaching 1,474 hectares.
Red garlic, on the other hand, has decreased by around 40%, adding up to a total of almost 1,635 hectares. Similarly, late white garlic has registered a drop of 24%, reaching just 347 hectares compared to the previous season.
