EU commission to investigate German tax exemption

The EU Commission has opened an investigation into a tax exemption for German greenhouse producers. German growers benefit from a reduced tax rate for heating fuel, methane and liquid gas used to heat greenhouses, with total savings estimated at EUR15 million a year. The Commission is already investigating a similar tax exemption in favour of Italian growers.
