Global Women Fresh announces two new awards aiming to highlight the impact of women in the international fruit and vegetable sector

Global Women Fresh, the international network for women in the international fruit and vegetable sector,  has announced two new awards to highlight the contribution of females in the sector: the Woman of Impact and EmpowerHER awards.

“Diversity, equality, and inclusion are in our DNA. At Global Women Fresh we support our global female community so we can play a strategic role within an organization and have a voice when decisions are made”, said Natalia Gamarra, member of the board at Global Women Fresh, and Director International Member Relations at United Fresh Produce Association. 

The Woman of Impact is recognized for removing obstacles in the Agricultural / Fresh industry with proven success. With a minimum of five years of background in the industry, she is a visionary leader of a global or international corporation, aiming to improve her company on different stages. 

Once a year, the EmpowerHER Award will recognize an entity that empowers women in leadership positions. Examples include promotions leading to senior management roles and relevant professional development, or success in board membership.

This award requires the company to be established for a minimum of 5 years, and to be able to show basic company statistics, including percentage of men and women employed, policies and other information concerning advancing women in the industry.
