Frost damage will lead to a loss of 30% of artichokes in the region.

Producers of artichokes have taken a hit in the province of Navarra, which will lose 30% of their crop due to frost.

Frost hit the region of Ribera and will cause a significant reduction in the harvest of artichokes, especially IGP Alcachofa de Tudela (

Tudela artichokes). Production is expected to fall by 30% (1.8 million kilos) compared to the harvest of last year which was about 6 million kilos.

The area of IGP covers 33 municipalities in Ribera and includes 500 hectares.
