After Budapest and Prague, a delegation has been to Warsaw to meet with the PAP (Polish Association of Producers of fruit). The two parties held various dialogues and exchanges of experiences in the look out for opportunities.
Against the decline in consumption of fruits, Europe has established a program for promoting fruit at schools. Russia and Ukraine will begin a campaign to encourage the consumption of apples. This program
, partially funded by the EU, will lead to an increase in EU exports of apples, mainly from Poland and Italy. Poland is the largest apple producer in Europe with 25% of the total, overtaking Italy which produces 20%.
The Poles have stressed that Italian technologies in agriculture are among the best in the world and that Macfrut is an ideal meeting point.
