Between January and November 2023, Peruvian exports of passion fruit recorded a total volume of 17,004 tonnes, reaching 39 different markets. However, this performance exhibited a slight decrease of 12.4% compared to the same period in 2022, specifically in the quantity exported, says Heber Chávez, market analyst.
The Netherlands is the main buyer of Peruvian passion fruit, accounting for 36.1% of the total share. It is closely followed by the United States, contributing 20%, while the other countries together make up the remaining 43.9%.
Chávez underlined the versatility and exquisiteness of the Peruvian passion fruit, indicating that it is exported mainly in the form of juice, frozen seedless pulp, concentrates, and other presentations.
