Consumption of Fruits & Vegetables continues to increase in the EU-28

EU citizens' consumption reaches 353gr / day and remains below the WHO (World Health Organization) daily 400gr guidelines.
Measured optimism but certaincxf , with recent FRESHFEL data showing a further increase in Fruit & Vegetable consumption in the EU-28 countries.
FRESHFEL EUROPE has just published the new edition of its FRESHFEL CONSUMPTION MONITOR. This analysis of the latest available data (up to 2014) shows that Fruit & Vegetable consumption is 353gr / inhabitant / day in the EU-28.
This represents an increase of 1.6% compared to 2013 and a 0.3% increase over the last 5 years (2009-2013). It is the 2nd year that the consumption increases. EU citizens consumed an average of 192gr of fruit and 161g of vegetables per day in 2014. Compared to the previous year, fruit consumption increased by 1.2% and vegetable consumption by 2%.
