Pears production will be in decline of 10 to 16% in the United States and in Europe.
Forecasts announced pears harvests in decline from 10 to 15 % in the North Hemisphere.
In the United States, these forecasts are confirmed. In Washington, which produces most pears in the United States, the harvests began, first with the variety Starkrimson, then Bartlett who will be harvested until October.
According to producers, quality and size of fruits are rather good. But the production will be lower than that of the last year. Pear Bureau Northwest plans a harvest of 17.9 million boxes that is a decline of 11 %.
With this lower offer, producers consider that prices will remain stable.
