Turkey

Turkey will resume exports of grapefruit to the Japanese market.
After many years off, Turkey will resume exports of grapefruit to Japan this month.
Since 2003, exports had ceased due to the fly that was discovered on Turkish fruits. After years of efforts for its elimination, the resumption of exports underscores the success of Turkey.
The Turkish Association of fruit and vegetables exporters (TYMSIB) reported that grapefruit exports to Japan will begin January 14, 2011.
Its objective is to provide quality fruit in the Japanese market. The Association will not be limited to grapefruit and also wants to sell cherries and lemons.
