Live from WOP Dubai: GULF MUSHROOM or the unique art of growing mushrooms in the desert

Founded in 1997, Gulf Mushroom Products Company (GMPC) grows and markets fresh mushrooms. GMPC operates the largest high-tech mushroom farm in the entire Middle East region, based on cutting-edge Dutch technology. From making compost to harvesting and packing fresh mushrooms, all operations are done in Oman.

 

 

 

GMPC with its premium fresh mushroom cultivation in a desert climate has faced many challenges: high ambient temperatures, fluctuating humidity and insufficient quantity of raw materials traditionally used for mushroom cultivation. But thanks to its perseverance and expert advice the company has mastered the unique art of growing mushrooms in the desert.

 

 

 

For more than a decade, the company has been producing and supplying fresh quality mushrooms every day in several varieties (White Botton, Baby, Brown, Portabella). The company's fresh mushrooms are marketed under the "Gulf Fresh" brand throughout the Middle East as well as in Asia-Pacific countries.

 

 

 

Based in Oman, the company enjoys excellent and fast access to the regional market by road and air. She recently received the HACCP certificate from TUV SUD, Germany, for establishing and implementing an internationally recognized food safety management system (HACCP) for mushroom production.
