Californian table grape expands its presence in 16 international markets through promotional activities
VU
The California Table Grape Commission has reported that for the 2023 season, the focus of the industry is to expand its international presence in 16 targeted markets through their export marketing campaign.
These 16 markets accounted for 94.4% of the exported volume of the Californian grape between June and December 2022. Among these markets, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mexico, El Salvador, New Zealand, and Vietnam experienced strong increases in volume and value in 2022, compared to 2021, despite challenges such as labor, shipping, inflation, and the value of the dollar.
The 2023 campaign foresees digital promotions for retailers in all targeted export markets. Promotions for wholesalers are planned in selected markets to reach smaller retailers with promotional activities. The expansion of the campaign includes a buyer app and social media advertising, as well as working with influencers and TV. Promotional activities are planned for the months of highest volume in each market.
