4th IBO Summit highlighted the potential of Mexico

The Summit of the IBO (International Blueberry Organization) has just taken place in Guadalajara, Mexico.
This 4th Summit brought together a record number of professionals, more than 230 stakeholders from 16 countries producing blueberries. For the first time the representatives of Portugal and South Korea attended the Summit, along with operators from Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Guatemala, India, New Zealand, Peru, Africa South, United Kingdom, Uruguay, USA.
Conferences and debates took stock of the activities of the sector, analyzed the data, and identified development prospects. Among these, the production of blueberries in Mexico could be multiplied by 4 the next few years (10 000 tons in 2014), this enormous potential will be a major player on the world market.
Delegates have indicated that their domestic production would increase accompanying the consumption that continues to develop. Asia recorded the fastest growth rate of consumption.
