Decreasing pear offer in 2002
Italy
Friday 27 September 2002
If Italy records a slight increase of 8% compared to 2001, the pear offer is still down 11% the volumes produced in the 90's. This drop can be explained by a decline in the number of orchards dedicated to some varieties such as Guyot or Conférence. Currently, only the Abate and Coscia varieties record increasing production.
