The fresh cut fruits, pressed juices and smoothies become even more topical during the summer season. Hence fruit processing factories, juice bars, supermarkets, restaurants, and groceries increase the volumes of fruits and greens processed.
In order to alleviate processors’ labor, this summer, ASTRA Inc. is launching a new model of its versatile peeling machine for pineapples, mangoes, and melons - KA-750PM.
“The yield rate of pineapple peeled with a regular peeler is 35-40%. The yield rate of pineapple peeled with ASTRA peeling machine is 60-65%.”, assures Ryo Takeshita, Sales Manager at ASTRA.
In addition, the updated version is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, however has the same speed and peeling quality.
Today, ASTRA peeling machines are sold in over 40 countries and have distributors in more than 15. This year, the company has especially increased its presence in South East Asia.
“A pineapple farm in Southeast Asia used to peel their pineapples with 2 workers peeling 40 kilos total per hour. With the Astra peeler, they increased their throughput to 150 kilos per hour with only 1 worker — a 750% increase in productivity. Not only peeling speed but also yield rate increased dramatically, from lower than 50% by hand to up to 65% with the Astra peeler.”, affirmed the manager.
