Peru targets the UK market

Peru plans to expand its exports to the United Kingdom and participates in the 1st exhibition London Produce Show.
Significant participation of Peruvian 1st British exhibition dedicated to fruits and vegetables. The main industry associations (Agap, Apem, Ipeh, ProCitrus, ProHass, ProVid, ProArándanos, ProGranadas) will be represented at the first edition of the London Produce Show (June 4-6 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London).
Europe is the largest market for Peruvian exports. The UK is the second destination of Peruvian fruits and vegetables after the Netherlands. In recent years, exports of fresh fruits and vegetables in the UK increased by 27% per year in value and volume: the value is increased from 8 million in 2000 to $ 151 million in 2013, the volume of 3946 tons in 2000 to 71,732 tons in 2013.
This year, according to estimates, Peruvian exports to the United Kingdom will reach at least 82 500 tons (+15% compared to 2013), with larger shipments of avocado, citrus and blueberry.
