Agrofood's turnover + 7.2% in 2007
A survey took into account the turnovers of companies having more than 20 employees: these totalled 138.1 billions.
The increase of production prices by 4.5% partly explains the growth by 7.2% in value of the industry’s turnover. However, Agreste publication points out, world demand was very strong too as confirmed by the improvement by 10% of exports.
“Since ten years we haven’t achieved a similar reach - experts underline - which involves all sectors”.
Consumption increase by 2.9% despite an average price increase by 1.3%.
The fruit and vegetable industry registered in 2007 a turnover upsurge by 7%, mainly favoured by the price increase and by potato processing and fruit and vegetable juices.
