The Consortium for "Limone di Siracusa IGP" is recognized

Sicilian Consortium has received recognition from the Italian Ministry of Agriculture.

The Italian Ministry of Agricultgure recognized, by decree, the "Consorzio di tutela del Limone di Siracusa IGP". The Consortium has officially the functions to protect, promote, inform consumers, and defend the interests conntected with the name.

It is a recognition that continues 3 years registration of the name of "Limone di Siracusa" in the register of protected geographical indications of the European Union. A form of protection for producers and consumers, guarantee of origin and of excellent product quality. The Consortium was established in 2000.
