Good harvest of mango, strawberry, papaya and watermelon in Costa Rica

In Costa Rica growers collected the biggest quantities of mangoes, strawberries, papayas and sandias since the middle of the nineties of the previous century. The main part of the season for these fruit finishes in the end of April.
On the other side, the crops of oranges, melons and Granadilla were significantly lower till the beginning of May than in the same period of time last year, according to report made for the Intergral Programme of Agricultural Market (Pima).
Likewise vegetables, for example - cauliflowers and onions -also were harvested in bigger quantities than during last season.
Strawberry growers from regions of Poas, Alajuela, Heredia and Cartago also collected much more fruit than in February, March and April 2006.
