The European Union is a major importer of Moroccan fresh fruit and vegetables. According to Eurostat data, the EU's statistical office, from January to September 2023, the EU imported fresh fruit and vegetables from Morocco worth EUR 1,833 million (+6% on the same period in 2022).
Local media report that, according to a recent study, Poland, accounting for just 1% of total Moroccan exports, is the leading destination in terms of growth rate. Moroccan exports (tomatoes, blueberries, raspberries, mandarins, watermelons, avocados) to Poland have grown by an average of +67% a year over the last 5 years.
Another high-potential market is Canada, where Moroccan exports have recorded average growth of +21%. The country is now one of the top 7 markets for Moroccan products (clementines, mandarins, citrus fruits, strawberries, blueberries).
