Mango exports could fall by 25%

Mango production is planned for the fall and will cause a decline in exports.
Unusual rains and hailstorms during the flowering damaged mangoes , especially in the north. The losses could reach 30 to 40% of the harvest.
Initial projections had forecast 19.27 million tonnes produced this year ( 18.43 million tonnes last year) but professionals are forecasting a much lower production.This low production will have a direct impact on the price of fruit and exports. Prices will be at least 25% higher than the previous year.
AIMGA ( All India Mango Growers' Association ) estimates that exports will know a 25 to 30% this year.
India exported 41,280 tons of mangoes in 2013/14 (USD 50.6 million ) and 55 585 tonnes in 2012/13 (USD 48.5 million .
