Successful edition for the IXth World Avocado Congress

Very successful edition for this IXth World Avocado Congress which took place in Medellín. For the first time Colombia received the event which greatly exceeded expectations (number of participants, number of exhibitors, number of conferences, number of meetings).

 

 

 

Organized by Corpohass and AgriLink, the 9th edition of World Avocado has just taken place in Medellín (Colombia). Colombia was chosen in 2015 as the venue of the event. This edition far exceeded expectations compared to the previous edition that had taken place in Lima (Peru).

 

 

 

By tripling the number of participants, 1050 participants in Lima, 3,247 participants from 50 countries in Medellín. The number of exhibiting companies has increased from 12 to 72 companies. In total, the event included 4,300 official meetings and more than 40,000 informal meetings.

 

 

 

As for the academic program, 152 speakers gave 187 lectures. Some of them were transmitted, for the first time in the history of the congress, by streaming thus giving the opportunity to more people of the sector to have access to it.

 

 

 

The 10th edition of the World Avocado Congress will take place in New Zealand in 2023.
