Constant increase in exports of fruits and vegetables to Japan.
Japan became the second export customer of Vietnam after China. According to the General Department of Customs, domestic exports of fruits and vegetables to Japan show a steady increase.
The value of exports to Japan in 2009 was USD 31.88 million and then in 2012 the value totaled 54,65 million USD and had already reached 51.8 million USD for 10 months of 2013.
The objective for Vietnam is now reaching 77 million USD in 2015 and 135 million USD in 2020. The industry believes that to achieve this, they must continue to give priority to the quality, Vietnamese products meet strict Japanese standards, but also diversify the offer.
