Belgium, 4th world exporter of strawberries

The International Strawberry Congress, which will take place in September, is organized by Hoogstraten.
Belgium occupies the 18th world rank of strawberries producers but reaches the 4th place for exports.
Belgium produces 40 million kg of strawberries every year and export 70 %, what places her in the 4th rank of strawberries exporter countries.
Strawberry is, after tomato, the product most exported among fruits and vegetables, specified Hoogstraten, during the announcement of the International Strawberry Congress which will take place in September.
Belgium is 18th world rank of strawberries producers; Benelux, with 80 million kg is 15th. The total production of Belgium amounted to 100 million euro last year.
