Consumer price index in Belorussia in January 2013 went up

According to official data consumer price index in Belorussia in January 2013 comprised 100,3%.

Prices for fresh fruit and vegetables remarkably increased during this period. Price for fresh tomatoes went up to 12,8%, fresh cucumbers - 12,3%, beetroot - 9,8%, white cabbage - 9,5%, carrots - 8%, onions - 5,4%, potatoes - 3,5%, bananas - 6,5%, apples - 3,8%.

Fruit and vegetables delivery to Belorussia is carried out via warehouses outside the country. Every extra reloading of the products increases price of fruit and vegetables for final consumers. This kind of logistic schemes leads to prices increasing, while quality of fruit and vegetables goes down.
