Decline in fruit exports
FJ
In Tunisia fruit exports were down compared to the previous year since January until August 31.
On these first eight months of the year, the country exported 23,100 tons of fruit ( 34,900 tons in 2014) for a value of 39.3 million dinars ( 52.1 million dinars in 2014).
This decline , according to GIF ( Groupement Interprofessionnel des Fruits ) , could be explained by the fruit ripening delay and the fall of the Algerian demand.
Looking at destinations Libya remains the first client with 12 900 tonnes , then France with 4 200 tons , then Italy with 3 200 tons. Algeria has imported only 563 tons of Tunisian fruit over the period.
