New Association Iberica Hortifruticola

Pushing consumptions, supporting the offer concentration as well as the markets’ diversification and the defence of the strategic role that the fresh produce sector plays within the national economy are the key goals for which the new Spanish association of Fruit-Vegetables’ Producers-Exporters “Ibérica Hortofrutícola” .
Some thirty F&V producing and trading companies of the provinces of Murcia and Alicante have joined to push this new initiativeforward, which is born “with the definite aim of defending the industry’s interests, as well as of supporting SMEs’ business activity”, declared the newly elected president of the association Juan de Dios Hernández Navarro, who is a businessman in the citrus fruit industry. The selected location for the initiation ceremony of the new organization was Murcia.
Talking of medium-term objectives, Hernández Navarro pointed out that
“our association aims at becoming a benchmark for the agrofood sector. We come to fill an existing gap: other associations address the big companies, while small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have been left on their own, especially for what concerns important issues investments, innovation or competitiveness”.
