The southern regions of Spain have just suffered a cold snap with frosts that have damaged various crops, vegetables and citrus fruits. During this cold snap the temperatures reached -3 ° C, -6 ° C and in some areas almost -10 ° C.
Professionals say that such temperatures have not been recorded for more than 20 years. These frosts hit various crops: artichokes, zucchini, lettuce, beans, broccoli and citrus fruits.
It is still too early for an assessment of economic losses according to COAG. The association estimates that a massive frost, with only one degree less, would have been catastrophic in some areas. This year will be particularly difficult, said Francisco Gil, General Secretary of COAG.
