Another delicate season for citrus fruit production in Florida.
The recent harvest forecast announced by the Ministry of Agriculture maintains the previously planned volumes.
USDA estimates that Florida's oranges production for the current season will reach 45 million 90-pound cartons. Volume of production therefore significantly behind the 2016-17 season which had totaled 68.7 million boxes.
For grapefruit, USDA maintains, for the 4th consecutive month, its estimate of a production of 4.65 million boxes. That's a decline of almost 40% compared to the previous season.
