COMPAGNIE FRUITIERE participated for the first time in the European Development Days.
COMPAGNIE FRUITIERE participated for the first time in the European Development Days, the major forum in Europe on development and international cooperation, the 11th edition of which was held in Brussels on the 7th and 8th of June 2017.
More than 8,000 participants gathered to share ideas and experiences on the ground to inspire new partnerships and innovative solutions to the global development challenges shared between North and South. Special emphasis was put on this year by the show promoters on the role of the private sector as a key and responsible partner for economic development.
It is in this context that the COMPAGNIE FRUITIERE took concrete steps in this event, through a stand presenting the contribution of the African exporting fruit sector to the achievement of the objectives set in Agenda 2030 for sustainable development adopted by the United Nations in September 2015.
The COMPAGNIE FRUITIERE booth was visited by a diverse audience: ambassadors, representatives of European institutions, civil society organizations and private sector actors. These meetings provided an opportunity to concretely highlight the role of the Fruits & Vegetables sector as a vehicle for sustainable development in Africa and more generally in the ACP region.
"As was highlighted on the booth we hosted at the European Development Days, we are firmly convinced that the example of fruit production in Africa is a model for the establishment of successful public-private partnerships and capable of contributing significantly to the achievement of sustainable development objectives ", said Jérôme Fabre, President of COMPAGNIE FRUITIERE.
