Kiwi berry in Belgium
Belgium

Two years ago, six Belgian growers started growing a crop that was entirely new for their country: The mini-kiwi or Kiwi berry.
At the moment, 4.5 hectares of Kiwi berry have been planted, but the expectation is that this will double this winter.
The kiwis are the size of a grape and can be eaten unpeeled. The fruit ripens a month earlier than the large kiwis grown in Southern Europe.
The berries are picked from around mid August to late September. The mini-kiwi is a possible new crop for (soft fruit) growers.
