New success for the conference which brought together the sectors of onions and carrots

The 'Biennal UK Onion & Carrot Conference and Trade Exhibition' event opened its doors to delegates, exhibitors and speakers at the Cambridge Corn Exchange in the city of Cambridge on Wednesday 20 November 2019.
Tim Elcombe, President of the British Onion Producer Organization, opened the event. Among the most noteworthy presentations, "Excel in a time of change, the British food supply chain" which detailed consumer trends, producer perspectives, drivers and solutions for the sector.
Another presentation, titled "The Future of Food 2040", gave an overview of the changes taking place in the industry since food production, changes in diets and how it affects British agriculture.
The conference continued with a technical session, including explanations of how spectral imagery works and how it can be applied, an update on sustainable plant protection products, and alternative methods of weed control.
Several round tables concluded the event which ended with a dinner.
