Trops will be able to offer even more avocados with 1,500 additional hectares in Portugal

The TROPS cooperative, a Spanish trader and exporter of subtropical fruits, plans to build a site in Portugal that will process the production of 1,500 hectares of avocados.

 

 

 

Trops plans to build new facilities in Tavira (Portugal). Construction planned in 2 phases, of 4,000 meters each for the treatment of avocados produced on 1,500 hectares, which should produce between 10 and 15 million kilos.

 

 

 

Trops' director, Malaga Hoy, Enrique Colilles said the new facility would be ready for the next crop year from October to November.

 

 

 

The director of Trops recalled that the current production from Portugal is superior to the production of the Axarquía region, mainly because of better water resources.
