In Beijing, Xinfandi, the largest wholesale vegetable market, which had been temporarily closed due to a resurgence of the COVID-19 epidemic has reopened and is expected to fully resume its supply capacity before the next national holiday, beginning of October.
The Xinfandi wholesale market was closed on June 13, due to confirmed cases of COVID-19. The Xinfadi vegetable wholesale zone reopened, marking the resumption of market activities after it closed.
Covering an area of 42.7 hectares, the redeveloped market offered more than 40 varieties of vegetables. The volume of transactions in the market reached 23,000 tons.
Market management ensures that strict preventive measures are maintained. All freight vehicles should be checked for their papers and quarantine reports before entering the market.
Before its closure, the Xinfandi market supplied Beijing with around 70% of vegetables. It should fully resume its supply capacity before the next national holiday in early October.
