Multiplication by 3 of potato exports

The state of Belarus registered a tripling of its potato exports in the period January to July 2015.

The Ministry of Agriculture said the country exported more than 200,000 tons of potatoes. The bulk of these exports headed to Russia.

This performance is explained by the special attention given to the sector in recent years. Implementation of programs for the development and improvement of production, construction of storage facilities. The country now has the capacity to store all of its production is 1.3 million tonnes.

Now the goal is to improve seeds and agricultural technologies to 500 quintals per hectare instead of the current 250-300 quintals.
