The apple crop in France reached 1.7 million tons, 8% more than last year.
The French apple harvest in 2011 is up from last year. The National Association Apples, Pears (ANPP) said that the harvest totaled 1.7 million tons, 8% more than last year.
The season was particularly early this year with a harvest that began in late July in the southeast followed by good weather favouring crops. The ANPP was found that trade in the French market is similar to 2010 and that export quantities are greater than 40,000 tons this year compared to the same period last year.
