Value increased by +68% for almond exports and Italy customer N°1

Very beneficial exports (+68% in value) for almonds of the Almeria region.

According to data compiled by Extenda in the 1st quarter 2014, companies in the Almeria region sold abroad more than 1 million pounds of almonds or +15.1% compared to the same period of 2013 and income increased by +68%, reaching 8.1 million euro.

The Italian market has bought nearly 4 million euro, representing 50% of all sales of almonds made ??on this first quarter. The second best customer was Germany who has purchased more than 26% of exports, followed by France with around 14%, followed by the U.S. with 4% and Greece with 3.3%.
