The important rains and the bad weather forecasts for April are going to compromise the harvest and the volume of the exports.
Ecuador, first world exporter of bananas, is touched by rains what will risk to damage the production of bananas if precipitations continues until next month, according to the National Institute of Meteorology of Quito.
Violent rains and floods have already made damages on East, and the agricultural regions of El Oro, Los Rios, Guayas and Manabi were the most touched.
Rains in the coastal region, where are produced bananas, are going to continue "in moderated intensity" in May, according to the forecasts of the Institute.
No estimation of the damage on the plantations of bananas for the moment, but the production and the exports will be affected.
