Excellent performance for Mercabarna, the Barcelona market
Mercabarna ended in 2013 with profits up +8.2% compared to the previous year. The activity report that was presented by Sònia Recasens, the president of Marcabarna, also shows an increase in tonnage sold.

Regarding the origin of products, 668,288 tons, or 63.7% are of Spanish origin, and 379,019 tons, or 36.3% are imported.
The objective of Marcabarna for the coming years is to establish itself as "Hub Alimentari del Mediterrani" food hub of the Mediterranean. A Mediterranean and European center to make enter products from around the world and redistribute to other markets.
