The Uruguayan apples already have a site of privilege in the supermarkets of several countries of the European Union. In this drip jar already they take exported towards the old continent 1,000 tons. At the moment the export of Gallic the Royal variety is being finished (early), but already began the harvest and preparation in packing of the Network Chef (variety of station that harvest of the second half of March). In the present export is participating 72 producers, but they will be many more as of April and May, when the apples Pink Lady are harvested. The apple exports begin the 20 of January with Gallic the Royal variety and arrive until the last days of March, but already during April they will begin to enter packing the Network Chef. To compete with apples producers from Australia and New Zealand Uruguayan farmers start to grow delicious and very flavorful cloned varieties of European origin, to be able to arrive with the products that today the consumer requests. The values that receive the farmers vary according to the variety, but they go from US $ 9 for the lowest calibers and to US $ 11 by kilo for greatest (they are free and given values in packing); in the case of the Pinck Lady the prices arrive up to US $ 17 by kilo. Within the European market the Uruguayan apples directly go to Italy and Spain, but through the importers, also arrive at France, England and Germany.
