Peru becomes the world's third largest grapes' exporter

In 2016 Peru was in 5th place in the world ranking of grape exporters, in 2018 the country became the 3rd.
Mincetur (Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo) announced that the significant growth of exports in 2018 has allowed Peru to become the world's third largest exporter of table grapes.
The ministry said the value of exports in 2018 reached $819 million, an increase of 26%. This figure exceeds those of Italy and China.
In 2018, Peru exported 343,000 tonnes of fresh grapes, 27% more than the previous year when 270,000 tonnes were shipped.
To date, Chile with $1,074 million and the United States with $926 million remain the 1st and 2nd world exporters of fresh grapes. After Peru, Italy ranks fourth and fifth with $779 million and China with $690 million.
